The Buzzer 65A High Speed Full Muffle furnace on the right was manufactured
in 1960. After 38 years of faithful service, this high temperature (2400°)
furnace looks like garbage.
But
fortunately for our customer, looks can be deceiving.
Upon careful
examination of the furnace with our Long Island sales representative from
Hilton Sales & Systems, a very different picture emerged. The frame was
still square, and none of the steel or cast parts were severely warped or
overheated. Far from being ready for retirement, this furnace was a good
candidate for reconstruction.
We
transported the furnace to our shop and the transformed it.
We
completely re-bricked and re-tooled the furnace, and even installed a Baso
(H15FA1C) 100% shut-off safety pilot set. The complete reline took about one
week and $2000, a fraction of the investment of time and money which would
have been required to replace the furnace with a new unit.
The cost
of a new furnace can be prohibitive, but the careful initial construction of
each Hones furnace often makes it possible to extend equipment life by
rebuilding. And maybe that's just what your customer needs.
Like
new: faster and cheaper than replacement.
